2. Scholarship

As a talented footballer you will have the chance to study, train and play in an environment
that’s as close as it gets to a professional club. Tamworth Football Club has an outstanding
track record of developing players as well as preparing them for a career beyond their sport.
Our successful scholarship partnership with Brighter Futures (link) is built on the following
core principles (as chosen by the players themselves); Togetherness, Focus, Commitment, Attitude.

We’ll help you balance your studies and your football commitments. You’ll benefit from an
integrated programme that is practical and progression focused, allows for practical and
professional skills development. Our links with the national and local county FA will provide
opportunities to obtain nationally recognised coaching qualifications, gain invaluable work
experience and build links for your future career. You will learn from some of the best coaches at Tamworth Football Club. We will support you to achieve excellence in your academic studies and your football. All coaches are UEFA Licensed coaches who have extensive experience in academy youth football, non-league men’s football and the professional women’s game. With both academic and practical experiences, our coaches will seek to develop every part of your game in accordance with the FA’s development model and proven club pathway.

We design your timetable with you in mind, meaning you'll get the best from your qualification and your training. As well as daily sessions from dedicated coaches, you’ll have opportunities to compete at the correct level of scholarship sport. The National Youth Alliance U19 league is your chance to compete against some of the UK’s top teams, with players also having the chance to compete on a national and regional scale in the Future Lions Super or Development Leagues. Additionally, players who excel within the programme will have the chance to play for the U18 Floodlit, or the newly formed U23/Reserve Team as part of their weekly schedule. The best U18 players from across the club will have the chance to play in the FA Youth Cup.

The U19 football scholarship programme at Tamworth Football Club College reflects the
professional standard evident within our fantastic facilities. You will be based full-time at the
Lamb Ground (home of the first team), training on the 3G AstroTurf; providing the perfect
surface to play football. You’ll also benefit from access to our performance services. With
daily access to Tamworth’s nationally recognised Snowdome (link), you’ll benefit from use of
the 12,000 sq ft Gym, 25m Swimming Pool, Functional Performance Zone and Fitness
Studio.

Strength and conditioning coaches, sport therapists, sports massage students through to
lifestyle management and performance analysis will keep you performing at your peak.
Within the scholarship programme, we play according to our football philosophy, guiding
players through relevant language and principles that underpin their performance. We want
to:

 Play attacking and creative football.
 Display a positive attitude, showing respect and sportsmanship for all.
 Win the game, but not at the expense of the above
